Dear Member,
As most of you are already aware, there will be an election on June 14, 2008 for the position
of Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562. I, Patrick H. Kellett,
am asking, not only for your vote, but more importantly, for your support for our Local, our Officers,
our members, and myself in directing this Local for the upcoming 3 years.
In response to a letter published and distributed at our May 14th Union meeting (with no
Union bug), I have chosen to respond without all the character assassinations, false accusations,
empty promises and blatant lies that my opponent has chosen for his campaign.
At this time in my campaign, the membership that supports me, along with myself, will
briefly point out where our Union has prospered since 1990 (in response to May 14th letter), and give
insight to where we are headed for the next 3 years.
Along with each and every member’s help and input, we will keep our Union among the best
in the U.A., one of the best in the Building Trades, and one we are all proud to be a part of. Please join me in my campaign for the future.
I would like for you, the member, to understand why I think our Local has prepared me to
continue in this very important position as your Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer. We have all
been given ample opportunity to succeed in becoming the best Plumber and/or the best Pipefitter in
our industry. I, like most of you, took full advantage of the opportunities and schooling provided to
us, and I will continue to do so, no matter what position I hold with this Local Union.
I feel that I have given our membership the best of my abilities. I, like our forefathers and
many of you current members, have sacrificed countless personal hours and family time, to make
this Local the best it could be. I promise to carry on this work ethic for the rest of my life. I learned
by example, having no one, other than my Mother and Father, to thank for that.
